About FTCH ALTIQUIN EGAN - 'Jake'  ......    Report Summary by Mr. Paul Toal.                   Back to Awards Won

This International Gundog and Irish FTCH has been bred and reared at Altiquin Dogs.

Jake has a brilliant nose and hunting style combined with an unbelievable temperament. In the kennel he is extremely mild and easy-going amongst dogs and people alike. He is a joy and a treat, a fabulous companion.

The retrieve that won him his champion status was a snipe shot in a field of turnips. He marked it to a T. He hunted the area of the fall and brought back the bird to hand with not a word from me. This is the kind of work that epitomizes Jake. Always steady. Always consistent. A true and natural hunter.

The reasons that I bred Jake and Solo together are many fold.... Their pedigrees tie-up fantastically. Their styles as well as their strengths complement each other perfectly. Most importantly, I wanted to further my lines with Jake firmly bedded into ALTIQUIN pedigrees, such is my belief in Jake's ability, his ancestry, and my personal experience with him in the field: raising him, training him, shooting over him, and trialing with him. He is a great dog.

I wish I had the time to type in and share more of our marvelous trialing adventures....
